on a very real note.. if any player wishes to be a trader.. you must know and understand there will be alot of sitting and waiting at your (shop) for a (costumer) to walk in.. plus you must know and understand the items loadout section"when its officially posted".. its not up to us to craft certain items.. but it is your "job" to see that the item and or "Prop" in question being crafted has all its pieces, parts, and correct schematics that are being used for crafting.. I will walk around or"bounce" from shop to shop making sure that things are going as they should.. Yes we will be running caravans and other such things.. Geddon is crazy.. So there is no doubt in my mind that he has Crazy things for us to do.. it will not be so boring.. Geddon hasnt disappointed anybody yet.. but if you have intentions of running and gunning, dieing in a BLAZE of glory,or have thoughts of other such crazyness then maybe the guid((trader)) is not for you.. please consider this carefully... its not going to be easy to keep, maintain, and stabalize an entire game economy.. its wits over muscle in the guild.. In the guild your best weapon is the one on your shoulders not the one in your hands...Good Luck..

I'm kinda interested, but unsure for now. If we end up needing quite a few more traders closer to the game, I'll probably join.

the game is a ways off but its not getting any further away.. just covering some bases...and not wanting any body feeling mislead.... the game caps at 200 ppl.. so im pretty sure which ever store or"shop" we get its gonna be pretty busy.. just ppl arent going to break off and be indepedent like last year.. last year i had managed to scrounge up a max of eight+ ppl and formed a group.. it was a loose group but it worked.. traders.gunman..medics..chemist..techies.. from the aars ppl wrote from last year.. we just simply didnt allow our "group" to get ripped..

Just to clarify, the traders wont be stuck in a shop all game. They will have to make rounds and take care of business outside as well. You can hire it out or go yourself, but there's plenty of opportunity abroad for everyone.
You'll have a "shop" but its up to you to man it or not.
The entire objective for the trade faction is the legitimate earning of caps. You are a business man. You will get an exclusive monopoly on the legitimate sale of a particular type of item
For example: Chems
or
Weapons and Ammo
etc
You will have to abide by a price list and will be required to purchase all items (up to the limit of your caps) that are brought to you. These items will be sold to their appropriate vendors (by you) for a very minor profit (or break even) or sold at your shop if its something that you sell.
You will need to guard your shop when you leave by either locking it up or posting guards or both.
You will have access to locking shelves/cabinets inside these buildings so you can fit a fair amount of items inside there. You'll also need a backpack or other means of transporting items when you go on delivery.
its recommended that you make a round about once an hour to all the other shops to sell them your stuff and buy back your things.
All items will be needed by SOMEONE so you will be decently busy all the time. If business gets slow, go on the road. Its up to you.
You'll also need to organize raider defenses like caravan security, premise security, etc. You have community assets like the Lawbringers, but also can utilize mercenaries, and even regular wastelanders.
Rewards for such business will be up to you.
The trader role is vast and rewarding. The signup is limited to one trader per trade category (randomly assigned) and a few alternates in case of backouts/no-shows.
if you end up without a specialty, then you will be a "roving trader" who buys and sells a little of everything on behalf of all the traders. You will be able to buy and sell at each trade post and to any wastelander you meet along the way.
Traders are ultimately a simple means to an end for the economy. Items and caps need to circulate the legitimate trade market.

I would like to encourage guild members to work TOGETHER.. this is the first year we get to work as a team and would like to discourage loner type work or business.. a roving trader is going to be a great asset.. just as much as a sit down shop owner.. i didnt mean to come off like i was telling anybody they had to sit and stay like some kind dog.. but as long as your at your store YOU have control... YES there will be lots to do as i stated earlier.. guard and guns to hire.. caravans that need to be run.. couriers that need to be sent.. geddon has been working his tail off to make it so.. oh mighty ceaser.. who said"So let it be written,So let it be done... but i cant stress enough how important its going to be to work as a monopolizing group rather than individual peddlers.. Be courtious to your fellow guild members.. exchange information... the trader faction didnt have any structure last year which lead to price gouging and bad sales... the Traders people didnt like was the well informed trader that people could not manipulate... EXAMPLE=== last year a trader handed off well over 10,000 bbs to a group for dirt cheap... I SEEN this happen.. later on that day said group call for MORE ammo as a trader i am required to respond.. so i sent a splinter group of BACKWOODS members to trade but warned them of the groups potential manipulation.. Becuase we kept each other INFORMED it did not allow us to be manipulated by there skeem.. saying "we have no ammo and need more"... they didnt like it needless to say...point being if we work together we win together... because of set price listings and other such things from GEDDON.. i have no doubts that this will be a very interesting game to say the very least...
THANK YOU ALL.... Daniel Barr Long live the guild...

Well hello there traders ;D I joined this faction a while ago I just never got around to posting some sort of introduction. Anyway I'm excited to be part of this even if it means sitting in a store the entire game. There's something about trading that I really like so here I am. Hope to see you all soon
