Chems are crafted drugs that players can add to their role card to enhance themselves a certain way. A chem is represented by a colored card that is placed in the player's ID badge above his status card. A chem has two characteristics An Effect, which can be positive or negative and a Side Effect, which can be positive or negative An example chem is Alcohol. - Effect:
Alcohol numbs the player to melee all melee attacks
- Side Effect
The player is hung over and adds 5 minutes to his next respawn time
Chems can only be used one at a time however, you can take multiple chems throughout being alive. The side effects will stack. This means if you take two chems before dying that each have a side effect of adding 5 minutes to your respawn time, you will have effectively added 10 minutes to your respawn time. Side effects cannot be avoided. All side effects are a mandatory effect, regardless of any other effects present on the player. Some chems have radiation side effects. These effects cannot be countered through anti radiation medicines. The only ways to remove chem side effects is by taking the tier 3 perk of Endurance, which grants a player free use of chems without side effects *note: this also removes any positive side effects Another way is to pay a Doctor caps to remove the affect of chems
