There exists an ongoing conflict between all humans of the wasteland and what is commonly referred to as "The Super Mutant Threat"
All people, both good and evil are constantly locked in battle against this domination of Super Mutant Prowess.
Super Mutants are a result of the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV).
The Mariposa Military Base, constructed in 2076 before the Great War, was the original stockpile of FEV research and materials. These materials are what created the first Super Mutant outbreak following the events of the Great War. First as a terrible lab experiment on prisoners of war, and then as a virus run rampant and loosed upon society.
Conquered in 2241, the surviving Super Mutants moved out into the wastes on their own in search of a new colony. Each time they use up the resources in an area they move on and found a "New Mariposa."
Super Mutants have been spotted in the regions around Berger Settlement and are suspected of heading in that direction. They undoubtedly will consume all of Berger Settlement's rich resources if they are not stopped.
Super Mutants of the region have a mottled skin color that resembles Multi Cam
They are dangerous and formidable enemies taking multiple rounds to bring down. They often carry all varieties of weapons including clubs, guns, and grenades.
They attack in packs and are relentless often fighting until death and rarely retreating.
