What is Looting?

Looting refers to the in-game mechanic that allows you to take another player's belongings during the game.

There are 3 categories for looting

• Ammunition
  
• Items
  
• Caps
  

When looting, you may choose to loot from all 3 categories at once, but you must observe the following loot limits

Ammunition
Ammunition Looting is carried out against a player's spare ammunition not currently loaded into his or her magazines.

• Spare ammunition is stored in tubes such as this
  
  To loot a player's spare ammunition, simply take one of his tubes. You may loot up to 1 tube of ammunition from a player at a time
  
• If the player being looted only has 1 tube, you must compare it against your most full tube. If his tube is more full than your tube, then you may simply trade tubes.
  
• Grenade shells are also considered ammunition
  

Caps

• Caps should be carried in an accessible place such as a coin bag or backpack pouch. Something that you can get to quickly.
  
• The common loot limit for caps is 5 caps.
  When looting someone's caps, simply reach into their container of caps and pull out as close to 5 caps as you can. If you pull more than 5, you may retain the 5 highest valued caps.
  
• Raiders may loot 6 caps, per their faction perk
  
  Items
  All other lootable items are lumped into a single category. You may choose one item to loot. This can be any in-game item that is not personal property. This can be props or restricted personal equipment.
  
  
• To loot weapons, radios, or other restricted personal devices, simply take the accompanying card license for that item. This will render that player's item useless and allow you to either equip the license and use a similar item yourself, or sell the license to another eager player.
  

To summarize, you may loot a total of:
5 caps
1 tube of ammo or grenade shell
and a single item of any type
